BARCELONA establishes itself as an international centre for major congresses.

Barcelona has established itself as a centre for major congresses of over 2,000 delegates in 2017 and will again host important events that have visited the city before. The calendar of events covers all sectors and for another year the Mobile World Congress will be the event with the greatest number of participants, with more 100.000 professionals expected to attend, according to data from the Barcelona’s Tourism – Barcelona Convention Bureau.

The following events stand out on the calendar of congresses planned for 2017, tand out The Mediterranean Dental Forum will take place in May (from the 12th to the 14th), and will be attended by 10.000 Specialists in the field. This event will take place at the Fira2 – Barcelona.

From 20 to 24 May the International Trademark Association Annual Meeting-INTA will take place, and will bring together in Barcelona 9.500 specialists. Located in New York, this year the Inta Association brings its annual meeting to Barcelona.

Also at the Fair Barcelona will be a new edition of the ESC-Congress for the European Cardiology6y Society in August, and will bring together 30,000 specialists in cardiology from the 26th to the 30th of the month. And Barcelona will also be Europe’s capital of Epilepsy International Congress 2017 that will be held from the September firs week for with more 4.000 participants expected.

In reference to the medical congresses, is also celebrated the European Society for Organ Transplantation-ESOT, in September, with more than 5000 delegates attending and the one of the United European Gastroenterology-UEG, with almost 14000 professionals of the sector.

For several years now Barcelona has been building a place for itself amongst the cities with the most business tourism activity in the world.
