Major events of the motor sector are the highlights of this week in Catalonia
Everything is ready for a new test of the Formula 1 World Championship.
Next weekend from May 10 to 12, the World Championship of motoring lands at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. In this year’s edition it will be called FORMULA 1 EMIRATES GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2019.
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has already fully consolidated this test that reaches its 29th edition. It has been maintained without interruption since the opening of the circuit in 1991. This second weekend of May, the Circuit will once again be a celebration of motor sport so that all fans can enjoy the show the show live on the circuit or through the different television channels that broadcast it around the world.
Apart from the excitement of the competition and the driver’s championship, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya organizes other activities for the fun of the fans. Music, culture and motor go hand in hand throughout the weekend with a combination of activities and proposals designed for all audiences. This F1 festival, in addition to speed, also incorporates new features in the Family Village compared to last season. Located next to the N Tribune (the family grandstand), and occupying part of the old heliport, it consists of several thematic areas for the different age groups. From the youngest ones, with creative workshops and games to simulators and DJ’s they play live music for young people and adults. As a novelty, the Family Village has an electric karting and an exhibition of historical models of Formula 1. There will also be activities of popular culture and a representation of urban culture with the Axe Colours graffiti artist, who will create a one of his works throughout the weekend.
In a few days in which the engine is the protagonist, also comes to Barcelona a new edition of the Automobile Barcelona – International Motor Show, which is organized by Fira de Barcelona and is the first fair event in the entire Spanish state that can commemorate the 100th anniversary since its first edition.
The Automobile Barcelona will be, again, the great international showcase for car manufacturers. This year’s edition also addresses the future of mobility and its relationship with technology. To commemorate this centenary, a great program of activities has been prepared within the framework of the Hall. Highlights a very innovative audio-visual reality show that will allow visitors to experience the history and future of the car. The exhibition will take some to Barcelona iconic vehicles that have passed in previous editions during these 100 years of Hall history.
On May 9 and 10, the exhibition is reserved exclusively for professionals and the media, while, from May 11, it is open to the public until the 19th when it will close the Automobile Barcelona Show.
